What techniques does Megan use?
Deep tissue massage
Releases built-up tension in the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, enhances circulation and supports the body's natural healing processes. Particularly effective for chronic muscle pain and tightness.
Myofascial release
Targets restrictions in the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles, to reduce pain, enhance flexibility and improve posture. Especially useful for widespread tension and movement limitations.
Trigger point therapy
Identifies and treats hyper-irritable spots in muscle tissue associated with knots and referred pain. Sustained pressure is applied to release tension and alleviate localised and referred discomfort.
Sports massage
Pre-event, post-event and maintenance massages tailored to the specific physical demands of each person. Supports performance, reduces injury risk and speeds recovery. Every Be Well member qualifies.
Cupping
An ancient technique using suction cups placed on the skin to lift and separate the underlying tissue. Cupping relieves pain, improves circulation, relaxes muscles and reduces inflammation in targeted areas.
Reflexology
Applies targeted pressure to specific points on the feet, hands and ears that correspond to organs and systems throughout the body. Renowned for inducing relaxation and reducing stress.
Lymphatic drainage
A gentle technique that stimulates the lymphatic system to support detoxification, reduce swelling and strengthen immune function. Particularly beneficial post-surgery or for chronic fluid retention. Megan is especially passionate about this technique and keeps it in mind with every remedial session.

Questions
Common questions
Remedial massage is a specialised, clinical treatment designed to address specific musculoskeletal concerns and promote overall wellbeing. It involves a thorough assessment to identify areas of tension, pain or dysfunction, followed by targeted techniques including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, cupping and myofascial release, to alleviate discomfort, improve mobility and support the body's natural healing processes.
Remedial massage is clinically focused, targeting specific conditions such as back pain, neck tension, injury recovery and postural problems using targeted techniques. Therapeutic massage is more relaxation-focused, aimed at reducing stress, improving circulation and supporting emotional wellbeing. If you are in pain or recovering from an injury, remedial massage is the right choice. If you are seeking deep relaxation and stress relief, therapeutic massage may be better suited. Not sure? Call us on (03) 8851 9686 and we will help you choose.
Remedial massage can involve some discomfort, particularly when working on areas of chronic tension or injury. This sensation is often described as a good pain, a sign that the treatment is reaching the underlying cause. Megan always works within your comfort level and will adjust pressure throughout the session based on your feedback. You should never feel that the pressure is too much.
Arrive well-hydrated and, if possible, avoid a heavy meal in the hour beforehand. Wear or bring comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. During your first session, Megan will conduct a brief assessment. Be ready to describe the area of concern, when it started, and anything that aggravates or relieves it. This helps her tailor the treatment to your specific needs.
This depends on your condition and goals. For acute injuries or significant pain, weekly sessions are often recommended initially, tapering to fortnightly or monthly as you improve. For maintenance or preventive care, most clients book monthly. Megan will give you a clear recommendation after your first assessment.
Yes. Megan is an approved provider for Private Health Insurance rebates for Remedial Massage Therapy. The rebate amount depends on your insurer and extras cover level. Check your policy before booking. Therapeutic massage is not covered by health fund rebates.
