Our Approach

Movement, backed by experts.

Most physio clinics treat the injury and send you on your way.

Our physiotherapy team, led by Senior Physiotherapist Patrick, works alongside the whole Club, so beyond your treatment, you have recovery services, specialised programs and a community that keeps you moving forward.

From your first assessment through to rehab, prehab and long-term strength, every step is connected and supported.

The result is a clearer, safer path back to moving well. And a team that knows your name, your history, and what you’re working towards.

"There's a physio clinic on every corner. What you won't find on every corner is this team, this facility, and this approach."

As a surgeon, I value the holistic approach to health care that Be Well takes. The physiotherapy assessment was unlike anything I had experienced at a standard clinic. It connected everything.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Physiotherapy in Hawthorn

The most evidence-based approach to building bone and muscle after 40 is progressive resistance training: exercises that place a safe, increasing load on your skeleton and muscles over time. Movements like squats, deadlifts, lunges and shoulder press have been shown to stimulate bone density and muscle growth. The key is learning correct technique before increasing load. At Be Well, our physiotherapist-led Bone Vitality Program is built specifically around this principle, with supervised Bone Strength Classes limited to 4 participants per class and an initial Bone Vitality Assessment to ensure it is the right fit for you.

Research consistently points to weight-bearing and resistance exercise as the most effective approach to managing osteoporosis and low bone density. High-impact activities and progressive loading exercises are particularly effective at stimulating bone formation. Our Bone Vitality Program begins with a physiotherapist assessment to determine suitability, then builds a progressive loading program using free weights, introduced gradually as your confidence and technique develop.

Physiotherapy is central to surgical recovery. Your physiotherapist will assess your strength, mobility and any post-surgical limitations to build a structured recovery roadmap. At Be Well, our Rehab Membership at $105 per week is specifically designed for post-surgical recovery. It includes your personalised roadmap from our senior physiotherapist, smart resistance equipment training calibrated to your body, physiotherapist-led Clinical Pilates, access to our full recovery suite, and a home exercise program. Sessions may be claimable under Private Health Insurance, Medicare, WorkCover and NDIS.

Prehabilitation means building strength, mobility and cardiovascular fitness before surgery so you go into the operating theatre in the best possible condition. Research shows that stronger, fitter patients recover faster and with fewer complications. At Be Well, our physiotherapists build a personalised prehab program based on your surgery type, timeline and current fitness levels. Prehab consults may be claimable under Private Health Insurance and Medicare with a GP referral.

Reformer Pilates classes at a studio are typically group fitness classes focused on general fitness and movement. Clinical Pilates goes further: every exercise is individually prescribed and supervised by a qualified physiotherapist based on your specific body, injuries and treatment goals. Our Clinical Pilates classes are strictly limited to 3 participants for close, personalised attention. It is a clinical intervention, not a fitness class.

Clinical Pilates uses Reformer and apparatus-based exercises prescribed by your physiotherapist for your individual clinical needs. The Bone Vitality Program is a specific 12-week structured program designed exclusively to build bone density and muscle strength through progressive resistance training. You will not touch a weight until you are confident and comfortable with the movements. Bone Strength Classes are limited to 4 participants. Both programs can work together as part of your overall plan.

Well-On-Track is our signature physiotherapist-led whole-body assessment and 12-week health roadmap. It covers your strength, mobility, health history, current lifestyle and goals, and results in a personalised plan reviewed every 12 weeks. It is the bridge between knowing what you should do for your health and having a clear, guided path to do it. Complimentary for Vital and Prime members and available as a standalone service.

No. All physiotherapy consults, Clinical Pilates sessions and Bone Vitality Program enrolments are available to non-members as standalone bookings. You do not need a membership to access our physio team. Be Well members additionally receive the Well-On-Track assessment as a complimentary benefit, plus access to HUR smart equipment, the full recovery suite and 75+ weekly classes.

Our team treats musculoskeletal injuries, sports injuries, back and neck pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, pre-surgical prehabilitation, pregnancy-related conditions, osteoporosis and low bone density, chronic pain, menopause-related physical decline, and age-related loss of strength and mobility. Patrick, Sabine and Natalie each bring different specialist backgrounds. Contact us and we will match you with the right physiotherapist.
