Frequently asked questions

The most effective way to recover from surgery faster is a structured rehabilitation program guided by a physiotherapist. At Be Well, your recovery starts with a full body assessment and a personal roadmap designed around your specific circumstances. Targeted strength training, Clinical Exercise Pilates, recovery facilities, and a home exercise program all work together to rebuild your strength and mobility as quickly and safely as possible.
Be Well Hawthorn offers a dedicated Rehab Membership for people recovering from surgery, injury, or pregnancy. Unlike a standard physiotherapy clinic, Be Well combines physiotherapist-led assessment and planning with on-site gym, strength training, Clinical Exercise Pilates, and recovery facilities, all under one roof. Everything is tailored to your recovery, not a general fitness program.
The right time to start rehabilitation varies depending on your surgery and your surgeon's advice. In many cases, beginning a structured physiotherapy program as early as safely possible leads to faster and more complete recovery. Our physiotherapist will work within the guidance provided by your medical team and build a program suited to where you are in your recovery.

In most cases, yes. Surgery, even when successful, leaves the body in a weakened state. Physiotherapy helps restore strength, mobility, and function, reduces the risk of complications, and ensures you regain as much capacity as possible. A structured program like the Be Well Rehab Membership takes that further by combining physiotherapy with targeted exercise and recovery services.

Recovering from a sports injury requires more than rest. A physiotherapist will assess the injury, identify the movement and strength deficits, and build a recovery plan that gets you back to full capacity without re-injury. The Be Well Rehab Membership includes assessment, targeted strength training calibrated to your body, Clinical Exercise Pilates, and access to recovery facilities to support healing at every stage. You may also choose to do one-on-one physiotherapy appointments, which will also be very supportive.
Post-pregnancy recovery is about rebuilding strength, restoring function, and feeling strong and capable in your body again. The Be Well Rehab Membership provides a full body assessment, a personalised recovery roadmap, Clinical Exercise Pilates led by qualified physiotherapists, and a home exercise program, all tailored specifically to post-pregnancy recovery.
Physiotherapy can be covered by Medicare through a GP-referred care plan, and by most private health insurance funds with extras cover. The Be Well Rehab Membership may also be claimable under WorkCover or NDIS depending on your circumstances. We recommend speaking to our team about your specific situation before you begin so you can make the most of any available funding.

If you have recently had surgery, experienced an injury, or gone through pregnancy and feel like your strength, mobility, or function is not where it should be, a rehabilitation program is likely to help. Even if you are unsure, our team is happy to have a conversation about your situation and whether the Rehab Membership is the right fit for you.
