How the Bone Vitality Program works

A step-by-step path to strength, confidence, and bone health.

Bone Vitality Assessment

Your Starting Point
Your physio will assess your strength, mobility, and any injuries or concerns. If you're good to go, they'll develop a personal plan for you. If the program isn't right for you, they'll recommend alternatives based on your current needs and capacities. Either way, you'll start with clarity and confidence.

Step 1

Personal Strength Training

Learning the Skill
Strength is a skill, not just muscle. You’ll learn how to lift safely and effectively, with as many sessions as needed to feel confident and prepared.

Step 2

Bone Strength Classes

Putting it into Practice
Join small group classes (max 4 participants) once or twice a week. If life gets in the way, simply reschedule — flexibility is built in.

Step 3

Tracking Your Progress

Measuring Success
After 12 weeks, meet with your Physiotherapist to review your progress and plan what comes next.

Beyond the Program

You’ll have the skills to maintain strong bones and muscles for life. Many clients continue in Bone Strength Classes for ongoing support, while others train independently—at Be Well, at home, or outdoors.

Your Questions, Answered

I’ve never lifted weights before. Is it safe for me?

The program begins with a personal 1-on-1 assessment and personal Strength Training session where a physiotherapist will teach you the correct techniques before you join a class. Classes are small and supervised by a physiotherapist to ensure you are lifting safely.

I have an existing injury. Can I still join?

Your initial Bone Vitality assessment will identify any limitations. If the isn’t the right fit at the moment, your physiotherapist will recommend alternative options.

What kind of exercises will we be doing?

We focus on "progressive resistance training"—evidence-based movements proven to stimulate bone density. This includes functional movements like squats, deadlifts, lunges, and shoulder presses. Every exercise is scaled to your current ability level.

Can I claim this on my private health insurance?

The program is led by qualified physiotherapists. Many private health funds provide rebates for physiotherapy appointments and physiotherapist-led group exercise classes. We recommend checking with your specific fund regarding your level of cover.

What happens if I miss a class?

We understand that life gets in the way. Our schedule is flexible, allowing you to reschedule your classes as needed so you don't miss out.

Do I have to lock into a contract?

No. There are no lock-in contracts, and you can cancel anytime. You can also choose to pay for casual classes or a class pack if you prefer not to commit to the full program upfront.
