Recovery is where the magic happens.

Moving and exercising are one side of the coin; rest and recovery the other. Recovery replenishes our physical and mental energy, heals tissues, builds muscle, promotes calmness, decreases soreness, strengthens immunity, and more.

We provide a rich array of recovery options: infrared saunas; oxygen therapy; compression; massages; sound baths; and, meditation. Each contributes to your recovery in unique and profound ways.

As well as simply being pleasurable, recovery is essential to caring for ourselves properly, a tangible manifestation of our love for ourselves and our bodies.

Devote yourself to one or two recovery practices or enjoy the variety of all six. Members may access two, four or six recovery equipment sessions per week, attend Sound Baths for free, and purchase massages at discount rates, see Memberships for detail.

Infrared Saunas – new tech for an ancient practice

  • What it is

Infrared saunas are “cooler” than traditional saunas. Instead of steam or flame-stoked heat, electromagnetic magic creates warmth at lower temperatures, allowing you to stay longer and gain all the therapeutic benefits of controlled exposure to heat.

You can stay in your normal gym clothes, though you will sweat! We invite you to slip into a robe and slippers provided in our Sauna Studio. A Be Well Keeper will show you how to select the heat you prefer (we recommend starting with 45% for 30 minutes, and building from there), the colour spectrum you want to use, and any music you might wish to listen to.

For those who wish, a cooling shower awaits you in our lovely bathrooms.

  • How it works

Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared saunas don’t heat the air around you. Instead, they use infrared lamps to warm your body directly using electromagnetic energy, heating up your body before heating up the air.

Traditional saunas can be uncomfortable and cause difficulty with breathing at high temperatures, whereas infrared sauna cabins have lower temperatures and are a more comfortable alternative.

Hydroxy Airpod – An infusion of life-giving energy

  • What it is

The AirPod Hydroxy is a revolutionary wellness device incorporating oxygen therapy and hydrogen therapy. Oxygen gives us life, hydrogen reduces oxidative stress and, together, they positively impact organs and systems throughout the body.

Compression – A satisfying way to recover from exercise

  • What it is

Step onto a pair of leg-long boots, relax on a recliner and enjoy massage-like effects as the boots inflate and deflate up and down your legs, using air compression.  You can also choose 6thigh and shoulder options. Settings range from light (1-2) to intense (9-10); start at 4 and build from there. While reclining, you might meditate (try our Muse headsets!), read, sleep, listen to music, or chat to your friend in the recliner beside you, all while your your limbs luxuriate.

Therapeutic Massage – A gift of thanks, from ourselves to our bodies

  • What it is

At Be Well, we offer therapeutic massages provided by gifted masseuses.

Therapeutic massage is a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practice that addresses both physical and mental and emotional problems.

Physical challenges may include muscle pain, injury, and stiffness. Mental and emotional issues may include stress, anxiety, and depression and other panic disorder symptoms. The treatments our masseuses address both in every session.

Massage is a gift from ourselves to our bodies, to thank them for everything they do for us. Regular therapeutic massages form part of every comprehensive self-care and wellness routine.

Our private Massage Treatment room is equipped with an electric massage table, towels, robes, slippers, heaters, music and essential oils, to enable you and your masseuse to have the best possible experience.

For those who wish, hot showers await you in our lovely bathrooms.

Sound Baths – a magical music experience

  • What it is

A Sound Bath is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to nurture you: mind, body and soul.

We are privileged to have The experience begins with each person lying down or seated in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and an eye mask. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath, the remainder of the experience is filled with different sounds and frequencies being introduced in succession.

  • How it works

The sounds are created by a musician using a variety of overtone-emitting instruments including tuning forks, gongs, shruti box, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, and voice.

We are privileged to have Dorothea Lucaci provide our Soundbaths. She has studied sound and music extensively with various teachers from different traditions in NYC and Melbourne over the past five years, and offers Sound, Music and Meditation events as well as Private Healing Sessions in which she weaves together Sound, Astrology, Reiki, Theta Healing and other Energy Healing modalities.
